Early Tests

In preparation for the opening of the HE building a number projection setups were tested.

The first that needed to be established was the suitability of the HE build external cladding as a projection surface.
These picture show the early tests.

After the walls were found to be suitable, I moved on to see how easy it would be to project different images onto individual tiles.

The video below shows how a number of still images and movie files can be integrated together into a seamless animation. this was achieved all within the VPT mapping software.

Another concept which was explored is the use of two projectors to create one display. The next clip shows a fully working iPad projected on the wall. To achieve this one projector displayed the background and iPad case, while the other was connected to an iPad and set to mirror the display. The two overlapped gave the impression of a working iPad.

Large scale corner projection was next. Early tests proved the image from one projector could be wrapped round the corner of the building.
