The Brief
To recreate and expand on the past 3 years Lightworks event. This years location is the University Centre Grimsby. This event with use sound and interaction more widely through the large projections.
Early Tests
Here I'm using a number of applications to create the effect. Quartz Composer is generating the clock and the live EQ. These are then sent to VPT6 using the Syphon patch and finally VPT6 is been controlled by midi commands from an iPad running Pianist Pro.
Glass Projection
Another idea is to project show-reels onto glass. After some research it turn out that professional film is very expensive. Trialling a number of materials showed that A3 laminate sheets do a very good job.

Projection Mapping
Full size projection test. This tested the concept of projecting a "line edge" inverted photo of the building back on to it's self.
Gaming Projection
Seven Hills projector test. To create an immersive gaming experience a large projected area is required. To acheive this a short throw projector is going to be used, creating a floor to ceiling image.
Live Stream
Setup and testing for a live stream feed from a HD camera. Equipment used here is an Sony EX3 using the SDI output to feed a Canopus convertor. The ADVC-1000 then output's firewire to a MacBook Pro running Livestream Procaster.

CG creation of 8 networked iMacs to play on a loop
The long process of loading all the content on to the 13 Apple MacBook Pro's which are going to be used during the event.

Here's a quick video I shot on the night. Very pleased with the results of how well it resembles the pre viz videos adove.
